About us

Urban Roots works out of the historic city of Chester and operates across the British Isles and Europe.

We are dedicated to helping you meet the opportunities and challenges that you face. We work at all scales, from enhancing a local neighbourhoods and habitats to developing strategic advice for local authorities looking to regenerate or extend their urban areas.

We explore all aspects from the physical, cultural, economic, social and local landscapes. From this depth of understanding, our creative response evolves into projects that are appropriate and successful.

 

 

Murray Graham MRTPI FRSA:

Murray Graham, Director of Urban Roots Planning

Murray Graham is the Director of Urban Roots Planning. He is a Chartered Town Planner with over 20 years working in the public and private sector.

Murray has extensive experience in strategic and policy planning at the regional and sub-regional level, and across a wide range of projects in the UK from Policy Development and Development Control, to Project Development, Regeneration and Masterplanning.

He is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Town Planning Institute North West, a member of the Town and Country Planning Association and is a member of the Climate Change Coalition.

He is the Vice Chairman and Trustee of the Cheshire Landscape Trust and a Board Member for the Weaver Valley Regional Park.

He was formerly Planning & Regeneration Manager at Cheshire County Council. He has gained a wide range of experience in strategic planning, masterplanning, rural planning and regeneration, sustainable development, urban regeneration and community and stakeholder engagement.
